Trailblazer Expeditions give you a rare opportunity to join Joshua, founder of Wild Roads, on the ground as he researches and develops the company’s next great motorcycle adventures.

Rather than following a route that has been ridden a hundred times, you’ll be there while it’s being discovered.

Together, we’ll ride thousands of miles, test roads, explore different regions, sample local food, discover hotels and experiences, and work out what deserves to make the final Wild Roads itinerary.

Some roads will be incredible. Some won’t. Some hotels will become firm favourites. Some restaurants will become stories we tell for years.

Join Joshua on a true Trailblazer Expedition to the far north, riding beyond the Arctic Circle towards the North Cape — one of the most northerly points in Europe accessible by motorcycle. WHAT EXACTLY IS A TRAILBLAZER EXPEDITION?

A Trailblazer Expedition is your chance to join Joshua, founder of Wild Roads, on a genuine motorcycle research expedition. We ride, explore, eat, drink and experience the destination while discovering the roads, places and experiences that could become future Wild Roads tours.

IS THIS A NORMAL GUIDED MOTORCYCLE TOUR?

Not quite. Trailblazers are about exploration and discovery. You're riding alongside Joshua as we investigate a destination and help shape the Wild Roads adventures of tomorrow.

WHO CAN JOIN A TRAILBLAZER EXPEDITION?

Trailblazers are for adventurous riders who are comfortable with the unknown, enjoy discovering new places and don't mind occasionally stepping outside the usual tourist trail.

WHAT KIND OF RIDER DO I NEED TO BE?

You don't need to be a professional rider, but you should be confident handling your motorcycle over long days and varied roads. Trailblazers are adventurous by nature, so flexibility, enthusiasm and a willingness to explore are essential.

WHAT HAPPENS IF WE DISCOVER SOMETHING AMAZING?

We stop. We explore. We investigate. That's the whole point. A hidden road, incredible restaurant, remote viewpoint or unexpected experience can become part of the expedition — and potentially a future Wild Roads adventure.

WHAT DO I GET FROM BEING A TRAILBLAZER?

You'll experience a destination before the route has been turned into a finished Wild Roads tour, ride roads that may never be available to ordinary tour groups and become part of the story behind future Wild Roads adventures.

WILL THE ROUTES BE PLANNED IN ADVANCE?

Some will be. Some won't. That's part of the adventure. We'll have a broad plan, but routes may change as we discover new roads, viewpoints, restaurants and places worth exploring.

WILL I BE RIDING WITH JOSHUA?

Yes. Trailblazer Expeditions are personally led by Joshua, founder of Wild Roads, making them a much more intimate and hands-on experience.

HOW MANY RIDERS WILL BE ON EACH EXPEDITION?

Trailblazer groups are intentionally kept small so we can explore freely, adapt our plans and enjoy the destination without the restrictions of a large group.

WILL I GET TO EXPERIENCE THE LOCAL CULTURE?

Yes. Food, people, landscapes and local culture are just as important as the riding. We're looking for the experiences that make a destination genuinely memorable.

WHY ARE TRAILBLAZER EXPEDITIONS LIMITED?

Because exploration works best in small groups. Keeping numbers low allows us to remain flexible, follow our curiosity and properly investigate the places we discover.

WHY IS THE TRAILBLAZER PRICING LOWER THAN A CURATED WILD ROADS TOUR?

Trailblazer Expeditions are typically priced around 30% lower than the same adventure when it launches as a fully curated Wild Roads tour. That makes them a fantastic opportunity to explore incredible countries for a fraction of the cost, while experiencing them alongside Joshua as the routes and experiences are being discovered. You get the adventure — without paying the premium of a finished, fully curated tour.
