Yes. Riders must be 18 or over and hold the appropriate motorcycle licence for the bike they are riding. There's no upper age limit — if you're fit, experienced and comfortable handling the mileage, you're welcome.
Absolutely not. We've got no maximum age. What matters is your riding experience, confidence and fitness. You should be comfortable riding around 200 miles in a day, with some of our longer days involving up to 220 miles and around 8 hours in the saddle.
We welcome a broad range of riding abilities, but our tours aren't beginner riding holidays. Some of the roads — particularly in the mountains — can be technical, twisty and demanding.
We generally recommend having at least a few years of riding experience and being confident riding for long periods and covering up to 200+ miles in a day.
Pretty much anything suitable for the journey. We have a broad range of bikes on our tours, from BMW GS adventure bikes and Harley-Davidsons to sportier motorcycles, touring bikes and everything in between.
Joshua, your tour guide, rides a Harley-Davidson, so you certainly won't be out of place on one!
As a general guide, we recommend a motorcycle of 500–600cc or above, with enough capacity and comfort for the distances involved.
Yes. You'll need to be able to carry your own riding gear and personal belongings on your motorcycle, ideally in panniers, hard luggage or suitable bags securely strapped to the rear.
We recommend keeping luggage relatively compact — you'll be moving between hotels, so travelling light makes life considerably easier.
We'll make this as straightforward as possible. Generally, you'll need your valid motorcycle driving licence, passport and motorcycle ownership/registration documents, along with any other documents required for the particular country or tour.
Don't worry about trying to figure it all out yourself — Joshua will provide clear guidance on exactly what you need before departure.
This depends on the countries you're travelling through and your licence. We'll let you know if one is required for your particular tour and provide guidance well before departure.
You don't need to be an athlete, but you do need to be comfortable spending long periods in the saddle. Some days can mean 7–8 hours of riding, with plenty of bends, elevation changes and technical roads.
You should also be comfortable riding in warmer temperatures, particularly on our European tours during the summer months.
Our tours aren't races and we don't expect everyone to ride at the same pace. We ride as a group, regroup regularly and look out for one another.
That said, our itineraries are designed around substantial riding days, so it's important that you're confident you can handle the planned mileage before booking.
Yes. European summers can get hot, and temperatures can be considerably higher than you're used to in the UK.
You should be comfortable riding in warm conditions and come properly prepared with suitable riding gear, hydration and sun protection. We'll also build in regular stops along the way.
You'll be riding as part of a small group of like-minded riders. Small groups mean we can enjoy the roads together without the experience becoming a large convoy.
There's plenty of time to ride, explore, stop for photographs and enjoy the places we're travelling through.
No — but you do need to be confident and experienced. Mountain roads can involve tight hairpins, steep gradients, changing road surfaces and significant elevation changes.
If you've spent years riding in the UK but haven't ridden much in the mountains, don't worry — we'll give you guidance and you'll have an experienced tour leader with you. You just need to ride within your ability.
The tours are designed around riding, so riding is very much the main event! However, there may occasionally be opportunities to take a shorter route or make adjustments depending on circumstances.
Your safety always comes first.
Mechanical problems can happen, even to well-maintained bikes. We'll provide guidance on appropriate breakdown and recovery cover before the tour, and Joshua will help coordinate things if you experience a problem on the road.

Weather is part of motorcycle touring, and conditions can change quickly, particularly in mountainous regions. Come prepared for rain, cold, heat and everything in between.
Some of the best riding days can start with questionable weather!
We strongly recommend having appropriate European motorcycle breakdown and recovery cover for tours outside the UK. We'll provide guidance on what you need before departure.
That's absolutely fine. We'll explain how we ride together before setting off, including regrouping, navigation and what to do if you become separated from the group.
You don't need previous group-riding experience — just good road awareness and consideration for your fellow riders.
We deliberately keep our groups small. This keeps the riding experience more personal, makes navigating mountain roads easier and means you get to know the people you're travelling with.
Pillions are welcome on tours where a pillion option is offered. Just bear in mind that some of our riding days are long, so your pillion should also be comfortable spending several hours in the saddle.
No. We'll provide the routes and guidance you need, including GPS-ready routes where applicable. You don't need to be a navigation expert.
Our tours are designed to make this unlikely. You'll have the relevant route information and navigation guidance, and we'll explain how the group operates before we set off.
If you do find yourself separated from the group, don't panic — we'll have procedures in place to get everyone back together.
Yes — that's the whole idea. Your motorcycle is part of the adventure. We welcome riders bringing their own bikes, provided they're suitable for the particular tour and capable of comfortably handling the planned distances.
We're not interested in simply ticking countries off a map. We're here for the roads.
Our routes are built around the kind of riding we'd want to do ourselves — twisty mountain passes, quiet backroads, spectacular scenery, great places to stay and plenty of time in the saddle. We avoid motorways and major tourist routes wherever practical, so you get to experience the destination from the rider's seat, not through a coach window.
