The Wild Arctic Odyssey isn’t going to be your average motorcycle ride — it’s our most ambitious adventure yet. Over 28 unforgettable days, you’ll ride through 11 incredible countries, crossing Germany, Poland and the Baltic States, exploring the breathtaking landscapes of Scandinavia, and continuing all the way to North Cape, the northernmost point in Europe accessible by road.
Expect spectacular fjords, towering mountains, endless forests, quiet roads made for motorcycles, Arctic wilderness, and the unforgettable experience of riding beneath the Midnight Sun. This is a once-in-a-lifetime expedition designed for riders who dream of going further than ever before.
In summer 2027 we’re running a Trailblazer version of this expedition: an explorative, first-run adventure where you join Joshua on the road north, discovering the roads, remote stays and hidden places alongside him before we refine it all into the finished tour.
Trailblazer riders get the raw, pioneering experience — and their feedback helps shape the route, the hotels and the highlights of the 2028 launch.
The expedition launches from Calais, heading east into Belgium and Germany to the great port city of Hamburg — the Speicherstadt warehouse district and harbour energy set the tone for the miles ahead. From there the route swings north to Gdańsk, where the old town’s amber merchants’ houses and the Solidarity shipyards tell the story of the Baltic.
The run continues through Riga — Europe’s largest concentration of Art Nouveau façades — to the medieval walls of Tallinn, one of the best-preserved old towns on the continent. Quiet forest roads, flat horizons and long summer light: the Baltic is made for motorcycles.
A short ferry hops the Gulf of Finland to Helsinki — design, saunas and harbourside markets — before the road turns decisively north. Forests deepen, towns thin out, and reindeer start appearing at the roadside as we climb into Finnish Lapland.
At Rovaniemi the group crosses the Arctic Circle, the line on the map that marks the start of the real Arctic — an expedition milestone few riders ever tick off. From here the light behaves differently: the sun stops bothering to set, and the riding becomes something else entirely.
The finish line every rider dreams of: North Cape. A windswept plateau 307 metres above the Barents Sea, marked by the famous globe monument at 71°N — continental Europe’s northernmost point. In summer the midnight sun hangs over the cliff edge all night, and the party on the plateau goes with it.
From the top we turn south through Alta — six thousand years of UNESCO-listed rock carvings on the fjord shore — to Tromsø, the Arctic’s unofficial capital: a lively university city ringed by jagged peaks, with a cable car, a striking modern cathedral and the world’s northernmost brewery.
The ferry from Bodø delivers the group to the Lofoten Islands, and to Reine — the picture-postcard heart of the archipelago, where red rorbuer cabins on stilts sit beneath granite peaks rising straight from the fjord. It is reliably one of the most photographed places in Norway, and one of the best rides.
Back on the mainland, the route threads south past the Saltstraumen maelstrom — the world’s strongest tidal current — to Trondheim, Norway’s first capital and home to Nidaros Cathedral, Scandinavia’s largest medieval building. Fjord roads, tunnels, bridges and switchbacks: leg four is the riding highlight reel.
Southbound through Sweden’s endless forests, the expedition breaks for Copenhagen — Nyhavn’s colourful harbour houses and canal-side cafés feel like stepping into a postcard after weeks of Arctic riding.
One last night in Hamburg on the return leg, then the final push to Calais and the ferry queue. Thousands of kilometres behind you, the Arctic Circle crossed twice, and the White Cliffs waiting on the other side of the water.

Wild Roads isn’t run by a call centre — it’s run by me. I scout every route myself, ride at the front of every group, and I’m there when anything goes sideways, from a flat tyre to a closed pass. Groups stay small on purpose: eight to ten riders, stays I’ve slept in myself, and roads I’d happily ride again tomorrow.
The Arctic is the biggest route I’ve ever plotted — and I can’t wait to ride it with the crew that helps discover it. When I’m not guiding you’ll find me somewhere in the Picos, the Pyrenees or the Alps, checking next season’s routes — usually in the rain, usually grinning.
The ferry from Dover drops you onto the continent — a working port town that’s more launchpad than destination. From here it’s a straight run east toward the Arctic.
Germany’s great port on the Elbe — the UNESCO-listed Speicherstadt warehouse district, the Elbphilharmonie and gritty harbour energy set the tone for the expedition.
A former Hanseatic port famous for amber, shipbuilding and the Solidarity movement. The old town was painstakingly rebuilt after the war, brick by brick.
A UNESCO World Heritage old town with more Art Nouveau façades than any other city in Europe, plus a central market housed in former Zeppelin hangars.
One of the best-preserved medieval centres in Europe — a walled maze of cobbled streets and turrets perched above the Gulf of Finland.
